Power Score Recap — Week of March 28th, 2021

$KYLE is my pocket accountability system.

I needed a way to manufacture that voice of accountability in my head so I thought about trying to gamify the life pillars I want to focus + improve on.

No idea why, but seeing the numbers like this and “gamifying” it makes it a lot more fun too.

I know that I need to continue to grow each day and each week if I want to end up in a place I want to be. Even if it’s just +1% every week, without fail, I know I’ll give myself a better chance at getting where I want to be with my life.

I’ve determined how to score each important metric and this system will serve its purpose as long as I remain consistent.

Pillars

Each week, I score my output on 6 different pillars:

  • Career
  • Health
  • Twitter
  • Investing
  • LinkedIn
  • Publishing

*listed in the order they were added to the index

**Metrics in each pillar can be adjusted at any time to adjust along with my goals.

***Explanations of each category + metric will be published on 12Thirty1, I just don’t know when I’m going to do that yet. 🙂

For now, this is just for me. I need to stay on track and find a system that works for me to minimize the number of days I feel like I’m stagnant or unproductive.

📈 Power Score Update

This Week’s Total Power Score: 181.21 — 🎉🍾

Last Week’s Total Power Score: 180.56

🟢 Weekly Growth: 0.36%

📝 This is the first week this little game has pushed me to beat my score from the previous week. I was definitely not going to make it until I dove into my Medium drafts and found an article I published. (I’m scoring myself on number of words published… will explain more later). I’m only 3 weeks into this and it already feels like a good decision. I had been tracking my scores since December but got lazy and never put the scoring system together so I never knew where I was… I never knew where I needed to focus on. This little scoring system manufactured the voice of accountability I desperately needed. It’ll change with time, of course, but it’s already a success.

Movement:

*(this / last)

🟢 Gainers:

  • Career (94.9 / 63.3)
  • Health (37.1 / 32.73)
  • LinkedIn (8.638 / 8.581)
  • Twitter (19 / 18)

🔴 Losers:

  • Publishing (8.03 / 43.39)

◻️ Stayed the same:

  • Investing (14 / 14)

📝 Even though last week’s Publishing score dwarfs this weeks’, it’s what came through for me with just 4 hours to spare (scores are finalized on Sundays at 11:59 PM Eastern*).

*or honestly wherever I’m living lol.

April 4th is 0.36% higher than March 28th

➡️ Going forward:

📝 It’s Monday, April 5th, and we have been in Key Largo since leaving North Carolina on the 1st. I already know my Health score is going to suffer unless we play some tennis and get a good amount of cardio in. Also found some YouTube workouts… just gotta figure out how to score those. Lol

*report typos to me immediately, please 🙂
