Prospecting braindump

If I don’t set up an actual prospecting system, I’m forever going to be on Day 1. I just won’t be able to build upon the previous day’s work without one. I need to build out a lead generation engine where I’m able to sit down at my computer and check my boxes and be done for the day. It needs to be systematized. Right now, I’m just running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

LinkedIn voice notes could be huge for me too. These voice notes could serve as my initial touchpoint (much like cold calling). But I’m not interested in forcing someone to carve out a few minutes of their day to just listen to me. I know how lucrative my offer is to me so I should just suck it up. But I f*cking HATE being cold-called… so I’m not going to do that to others. I still hold onto the whole “treat others as you’d want to be treated” bit. I’m not going to cold-call. I have thousands of 1st-degree connections on LinkedIn who I can reach out to using these voice notes instead. After that, I can follow up with a message or two and then move to email. Two channels isdramatically better than one. Three is obviously better than two, but I seem to always find a way to run the risk of spreading myself too thin. Gotta stop.

Five new prospects per weekday would be good. As long as there’s a system and an engine running the whole thing. Just a simple outline is really all I need because I know how I operate. As I start to utilize this “system”, I’ll also begin to tweak it and optimize it so that it better fits my routine and achieves better results. I know everything I’m supposed to be doing, I just keep finding ways and excuses to take shortcuts and it’s got to stop.

I keep writing about things I GOTTA STOP and all this… and I think it’s great that I’m aware of this all… but I need. to. f*cking. do. it… instead of just talking about it.

Braindump within a braindump — lead generation engine

  • Voice note — LinkedIn
  • Direct message—LinkedIn
  • Email sequence (no more than 3 emails)
  • When finished with first time through email sequence find prospect(s) on Twitter or Facebook — don’t do anything here… just follow and interact with their content if they post
  • Wait about 30 days
  • Run another email sequence
  • Follow up with a voice note on LinkedIn
  • Follow up with Direct Message (we’re breaking up)

Need to create a quick voice note script to make sure I’m delivering the right message to everyone. Or at least make a script for the transition to the offer. I still want to remain relevant… I just don’t want to restrict myself from being able to scale more effectively either. I don’t need hundreds upon hundreds of leads… I need like 20–30. Honestly, about 10–15 leads will be enough to move the needle. To start anyway.

Got sidetracked a bit just now (need to quit that too lol). I was building out a new email sequence I want to launch… just need to tweak it a bit. I’m going with a hyper-minimalist approach. Just a few lines of text; no extra bullshit. I want to get straight to the point without taking up too much of the prospect’s time. I know they’re busy and I’d rather just get a response or an answer as soon as I can. I don’t need them to want to f*cking marry me… I just need my message to be relevant and considerate.

I just need to stay consistent with my daily two-hour prospecting block. I know I can move mountains JUST doing that. It has nothing to do with the amount of time. It has everything to do with consistency. I need to build my prospecting flywheel.

That’s all for today.

Toodles.
