I absolutely did not want to workout this morning

I woke up fine.

I didn’t wake up ready for the day though.

I wanted to sleep in just a bit more.

But I knew I would regret it like I always do.

And right as I had that thought, I jumped out of bed, put my contacts in, put some clothes on, grabbed my AirPods, and fired up Audible to head out on my morning walk. These walks always make me feel better. I prefer morning walks, but it doesn’t really matter when I do it. They always help. Right after my walk, I started my little workout in the driveway. It’s nothing special. It's just a nice little workout that I do when I don’t make it to the gym (a 30 min drive from my Dad’s house).

Before I actually started the workout, I put my numbers into my Pocket Accountability tracker. I’ve learned that when I enter my workouts beforehand, I’m able to make sure I actually do everything I planned. Otherwise, I run the risk of cheating myself. Instead of doing 5 sets of a workout, I’d sometimes only do 3 or 4. But the only person losing here is me. I don’t want to lose. And I’m not going to. If I let myself quit here on this little workout, what else will I elect to quit or end early? It’s just a bad habit to fall into. So I make sure to put my numbers in BEFORE I exercise. I can see my day’s Health score before I do any work, and I won’t tolerate a score any less than that.

I didn’t want to work out this morning, but I did. I’m continuously proud of myself for sticking to what I had planned out the night before. (I almost always time block the next day the night before.)

If I didn’t have my Pocket Accountability tracker, I don’t think I would’ve stuck to my plans. It just would’ve been way too easy for me to skimp out on my workout. Or simply crawl back in bed altogether.

Today is already starting off so much better because of this tracker. It continues to work as I had initially planned. And for that, I’m grateful. 🙂

I badly want to find a way to productize this because I know so many people out there would benefit from something like this. Everyone likes to have already worked out and exercised for the day. There isn’t anyone who regrets going to the gym or working out after they did it (unless of course they got hurt doing it but that’s a different story). This tracker gives me the extra pep and motivation I need to get shit done. I know I’m not the only one who this spreadsheet can help.

I didn’t want to work out this morning. I’m glad I did.

I’m glad I woke up and realized I would regret sleeping in any more.

Today’s already starting off great and I plan to keep the momentum going.
