Building a SaaS | Check-in #3
I don’t really remember what I wrote for check-in #2 because it was so long ago.
My saas has 1 client/customer— my mom’s cleaning company. I’m now the company’s marketing head, and we’ve been implementing nurturely over the last few weeks. They had almost zero lead generation or sales pipeline management, so we’re changing that. And since no one in that office had ever done this stuff before, we’re starting at square one. Lol
I’m documenting everything I’m doing with the plans of packaging it all up and selling courses out of it. Then, those courses will be geared towards selling nurturely.
For example, I’m almost finished with an ebook that will show other cleaning company owners how to set up a Facebook ad campaign that’ll be able to generate estimate requests on demand.
There are marketing agencies out there that will literally sell exactly this for north of $2k per month. I can show people how to quickly do it themselves with this ebook. I’ll probably charge something like $10-$30 for this for the first 50 people… I don’t really know about that yet. But this ebook is going to power the sales for nurturely because I have absolutely zero interest in getting on demos with folks to try to sell them on it.
I’m just not gonna do it.
It doesn’t give me the life I want for myself — not to mention that it’s a super, super inefficient use of time. Some will argue with me on that part, but that’s my personal outlook. I don’t think it’s an efficient use of my time to close customers and clients 1 by 1 when I can instead put together valuable resources for people and have those resources sell nurturely.
I really need to put some focus on my email marketing — at least building my list. I need to set up a quick Facebook ad campaign and push a lead magnet. Something like a swipe file that shows what all the other cleaning companies’ Facebook ads look like. There are owners out there who are afraid to run ads because they don’t know how to create one that’s *good enough*. I’ll show them 100s of different cleaning ads for inspiration.
When we get back to North Carolina, I’m going to put more effort into building my list. I’ve always known I should be doing this and just never did anything about it. That part has to change immediately.
Anyway, that’s where I’m at. Hopefully, I’ll be bringing better news on my next update. 🙂
